Someone once divided interior design into three levels: material form is the surface structure, human activities are the middle structure, and human concepts and ideologies are the deep structure. A pleasant home environment is the integration and unity of these three levels. Excellent home designers should not only have the ability to manipulate space and proficiently use various styles, but also deeply understand the needs of residents. There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people, and designers need to understand the needs of homeowners and find this Hamlet to create the dream home in their hearts.
Recently, the "Search for the Beautiful Villa in Your Heart" designer invitation competition has once again sparked a heated discussion about the cross-border integration of interior decoration design and building materials design. This design event has attracted thousands of designers to participate and numerous new works are gathered, all based on the concept of "villa aesthetics". During the competition, the organizers specifically interacted with interior designers in multiple cities across the country, from Guangzhou, Zhuzhou, and Hangzhou in the south to Hefei and Wuhan in central China, and then to Tianjin and Shenyang in the north. They held appreciation events, art salons, villa model shows, themed parties, and more, with each event focusing on design and bringing new inspiration to the design industry from the perspective of the building materials industry.
It is reported that this event was created by one of China's 500 most valuable brands, Special Ceramics, with a million dollar investment, focusing on exploring the integration of material aesthetics and living aesthetics, and working with elite designers at home and abroad to find and create "beautiful villas". In addition to the concept, specially designed ceramics have timely set up awards such as the UK Olympic Root Seeking Tour, Southeast Asian Beautiful Villa Tour, Ten Thousand Yuan Shopping Fund, Apple Digital, etc., causing a "Beautiful Villa" craze in the decoration and design industry.
In fact, before this competition, there was an event related to Chinese design that attracted widespread attention. During this year's Milan Design Week, a 500 square meter space was set aside for 60 designers from China to showcase more than 80 works with different shapes, blending traditional and contemporary elements, philosophy and functionality, using "chairs" as the theme. The classical style African rosewood seats, drawing inspiration from Ming Dynasty round chairs, mesh structure mechanics, and the "Suzhou armchair" with carved Suzhou window lattice bridges, have brought a Chinese style to Milan. The design incorporating Chinese elements has won applause from Milan.
The designer competition was launched in Foshan, known as the "Ceramic Capital of China". Over the past thirty years, the ceramic industry has started from scratch and has now spread Chinese tiles all over the world. However, Chinese ceramics still hold a low value position in the global value chain. Therefore, as a Chinese brand, TeTe Ceramics has always been committed to seeking breakthroughs in materials and design, and working together with various links in the home value chain to restore the rightful position of Chinese ceramics. In recent years, specialized ceramics have risen from selling pure ceramic tiles to guiding lifestyle, and have become more involved in home design. Therefore, this designer competition was held under the name of "Meishuism". This competition has achieved remarkable results in terms of the number of participating designers, the quantity of entries, the richness of prizes, and the quality of entries, and has also won the popularity of the ceramic and decorative design industries.
